Deborah Oluwade
Master’s degree in interior design at the University of Manitoba
Deborah Oluwade is an aspiring interior designer passionate about creating inclusive, adaptable spaces that support aging in place. Originally from Nigeria and now based in Canada, Deborah's research explores how interior design can enhance the well-being of older adult immigrants, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive in their new environments. Her practicum focuses on innovative solutions for multigenerational living, home safety, and accessibility, fostering dignity and independence for aging populations. With the support of the Ageless Living Collaborative (ALC) Senior Living Design Scholarship, Deborah is committed to advancing her studies and collaborating with industry leaders to design thoughtful, inclusive living environments for older adults.
Carlie Garrison

Carlie is an interior design student at Ball State University with a passion for creating spaces that enhance well-being. Minoring in construction management and marketing, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to her work. Actively involved in the Interior Design Association and Ball State University Dance Marathon, Carlie is dedicated to both professional growth and community impact. Her artistic background has earned her recognition in various art shows, and she was nominated for the BSA Healthcare Design Charette in Indianapolis. With hands-on experience working at a local nursing home, Carlie is deeply committed to designing environments that support comfort, care, and connection. As an ALC Scholarship recipient, she aims to further her expertise and one day establish her own interior design firm, focusing on spaces that foster well-being and inclusivity.
